Weekly Creative Inspo – 7.26.2019

Happy

As another week comes to a close and we all eagerly look towards the weekend, I’ve gathered some things that have inspired and intrigued my curious soul. I hope you can find some inspo as well!

ShapeUpYourWork.
An excellent e-book by the people at Basecamp. Chapter 2 goes into the principals of shaping your work and how to not be too abstract or too concrete when working on shaping your ideas.

MidYearDesignTrends2019.

MagicOfNature-LocalPreacher.
I just discovered Slava Semeniuta aka Local Preacher and I’m kicking myself for not finding him sooner. Ranging from portraits to landscape, he truly is as he describes, a Visual Scientist.

Bonus

GreenRoofBusStops.
Utrecht in the Netherlands has installed 316 green-roofed, bee-friendly bus stops to their public transport routes to help save the bees!

LegoCampaign-Ogilvy&Mather’s.
I love legos but hate stepping on them. If you haven’t already, go ahead and follow Lego on Instagram. The marketing team behind them does great work. Here’s a cool campaign commissioned by Ogilvy&Mather’s!

SymbolikonDigitalEncyclopedia.
For those of you who have had the unfortunate pleasure of listening to me talk about ancient civilizations, you’ll know I’m sort of obsessed. Michela Graziani, a designer from Rome has worked to create an updated encyclopedia of 650 of our ancient symbols.

2019iPhonePhotographyAwards.
For a long time, iPhone and cell-phone photography has always left a bad taste in the older generation of photographers. Working largely in the photo-scene when I first graduated college, I heard this topic come up A LOT. Regardless of how you feel, IPPAWARDS 12th annual winners of the iPhone photography contest prove that Shot on an iPhone isn’t a negative (photo pun?).
