Weekly Creative Inspo – 10.18.2019

Happy

As another week comes to a close and we all eagerly look towards the weekend, I’ve gathered some things that have inspired and intrigued my curious soul. I hope you can find some inspo as well!

Banksy:GrossDomesticProduct.
Banksy has played a huge role in my creative journey. His work now globally recognized, has reached the main stream and it’s been an interesting spectacle watching him deal with it. Remember shredding his famous work?

His most recent work has led him to create a homewares store in which you can purchase official Banksy products in a way to fight art thieves from stealing his work and poke fun at designer brands.

My favorite part about this is that you’re not guaranteed to receive the single item you want to purchase (yepp he’ll only let you pick one item. Although I think this isn’t entirely true; Banksy likes rule-breaking), you have to fill out an application and answer the question:
Why does art matter?”

I hope I get the spray can…

An article that takes a look at Sun Tzu’s The Art Of War and how even the language used within the text drives his main point, “winning without fighting is better than fighting and winning.”

“Always remember that to argue, and win, is to break down the reality of the person you are arguing against. It is painful to lose your reality, so be kind, even if you are right.”
